On June 18, in the District Court for Słupca two journalists: Janusz A. and Zbigniew W. were found guilty of slender and defamation of Eugene Grzeszczak, commiting the crime from the article number 212 section 2 of the polish criminal code. The case concerns about the text, which was released on 31st of August 2012, by the local newspaper Kurier Słupca Online. In the article entitled "Disclose another scandal of PSL" were made untrue allegations, like the fact that Eugene Grzeszczak joined the company of his son with 121 533, 99 zł obtained from the State Budget as also that Eugeniusz Grzeszczak, is a right hand of Waldemar Pawlak and he had generously supported financially the company of his son. Today, the Court found that the two defendants, acting jointly and in agreement, deliberately slendered and made defamation of Eugene Grzeszczak of doing such a procedure and properties that breached the good name of the private prosecutor and to exposed him on the loss of trust required for its political activities and political functions to be performed – vice-speaker of the Polish Sejm- lower house of Polish Parliament.The Court recognizing the two defendants guilty and sentenced them to a fine in the amount of 2,000 polish złotys with suspension of its execution for a period of 1 year. In addition, the Court has undertaken both condemned: to provide public message of the judgment in the Voice Of Słupcy and to be published in the Internet Curier of Słupca, as well as court ruled both defendants to pay each of them amount of 1000 polish złotys for Caritas Poland. The defendants also bear the costs of a trial because they lost the process also bear the costs of a trial. The judgment is not final. "We are very pleased with the judgment. It is worth noting that everyone, including the politician-has the right to the protection of the dignity and good name. This is not only the Polish Penal Code, but also the European Convention on human rights. Freedom of speech must not lead to violations of the rights of others, " said Mec.
